HVAC marketing in Canada comes down to one question: what did each booked job cost you, and could it have cost less? Everything else, from SEO to Google Ads to reviews, is a way of improving that number. This site explains each piece in plain language, shows how to judge an agency (including us), and gives you the regional detail that a Halifax furnace shop and a Kelowna heat-pump installer each need.
The four parts of HVAC marketing that actually move the phone
Short answer: search visibility, paid search, your website and your reviews. Each one does a different job, and weakness in one drags down the other three.
| Part | Its job | How fast it works | Where to read more |
|---|---|---|---|
| SEO and local search | Get you found in Google's map pack and organic results without paying per click | Builds over months | HVAC SEO |
| Paid search and ads | Put you in front of homeowners on the day they need you | Days | Google Ads for HVAC |
| Website | Turn the visit into a call or text | Immediate once live | HVAC websites |
| Reviews and Business Profile | Win the side-by-side comparison before anyone calls | Compounds over time | Reviews and GBP |
A common pattern we see: an owner pays for ads, the ads work, but the clicks land on a slow homepage with a buried phone number and a review count well below the shop down the road. The ads get blamed. The real leak is two steps later. That's why the services hub treats these as one system rather than four separate purchases.
The number that tells you whether marketing is working
Short answer: cost per booked job. Leads, clicks and rankings are only useful if they lead to it.
Here's a worked example with illustrative numbers you can swap for your own:
- You spend $3,000 in a month on ads and management.
- That produces 60 phone calls and texts.
- Your call log shows 30 were real prospects in your area (the rest were existing customers, wrong numbers and job seekers).
- Your team books 15 of them.
- Cost per booked job: $3,000 ÷ 15 = $200.
If six of those 15 become replacements with $2,500 of gross margin each, the month produced $15,000 of margin on $3,000 of spend. If only one closes, you have a sales problem, not a marketing problem, and a good agency should tell you so. Our guide to setting an HVAC marketing budget walks through this maths in more depth.
Why marketing an HVAC company in Canada is its own discipline
Short answer: the country has very different climates, fuels, rules and rebate programs from one province to the next, and your ads and pages have to match the market you're in.
- Heating mix varies a lot. Statistics Canada reports that in 2023 about three-quarters of Alberta and Saskatchewan households heated mainly with natural gas, while 70% of Quebec households used electricity. Messaging that sells furnaces in Calgary won't land in Laval.
- Programs open and close. Several federal heat-pump programs closed between 2024 and 2026, and a new National Heat Pump Rebate was announced on October 8, 2026, with federal pages saying it launches in 2027 (as of October 2026, no administrator or launch date has been published). Ads that promise a rebate which isn't open yet are a misleading-advertising risk.
- Language rules apply. Under rules summarised by the OQLF, Quebec requires French in commercial advertising and on websites aimed at Quebec customers; Nunavut has its own Inuktut requirements under the Inuit Language Protection Act.
- Seasons are not the same everywhere. The mild, wet coast of BC and the long prairie winters create completely different demand curves.
Our areas hub covers all ten provinces and three territories, with sources and dates for every program and regulator we mention.
How to hire an HVAC marketing agency without regretting it
Short answer: hire the agency that measures what you measure, gives you ownership of your accounts and can explain its plan without jargon.
Before you sign with anyone, ask:
- Will my Google Ads account, Google Business Profile, analytics and domain be in my company's name?
- Do you report cost per booked job, or only clicks and impressions?
- What happens in month one, and what should I expect by month three?
- Is the ad budget paid to Google included in your fee, or separate?
- Can I leave without penalty, and what do I keep if I do?

Who is behind HVAC-Marketing.ca
Short answer: a Canadian marketing and consulting team led by Ali Sedighi, MBA, headquartered in Vancouver, BC, and part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies.

What it costs to work with us
Short answer: plans from $2,998 per month and websites from $3,500, in Canadian dollars plus GST/HST for your province, with a free 7-day trial and no lock-in.
The pricing page lists the Starter, Growth and Elite plans, the three website packages and what drives cost up or down. If you'd rather talk it through, call, text or email and you'll reach a senior strategist, not a sales script. The FAQ answers the questions owners ask most before they call, and the contact page tells you what to include so the first conversation is useful.

Frequently asked questions
What is HVAC-Marketing.ca?
HVAC-Marketing.ca is a Canadian digital marketing and business consulting service for HVAC, heating and cooling companies, operated by Sedighi.ca and led by Ali Sedighi, MBA. We market contracting businesses; we do not install, repair or service any equipment ourselves.
Which marketing channel should an HVAC company start with?
Start with the channel closest to the phone call. For most companies that means a complete Google Business Profile, a steady flow of genuine reviews and a website with one page per core service, then paid search for peak weeks, then SEO content for the long run.
How much does HVAC marketing cost with you?
Managed plans start at $2,998 per month, and websites start at $3,500 one-time, in Canadian dollars plus GST/HST based on your province (GST and QST in Quebec). The pricing page breaks down the Starter, Growth and Elite plans and what each includes.
Do you work outside British Columbia?
Yes. We are headquartered in Vancouver and work with HVAC companies in all ten provinces and three territories. Each region page on this site explains the local climate, heating mix, regulators and programs that shape marketing there.
Is there a contract?
There is no lock-in. You can start with the free 7-day trial, which needs no credit card, and decide afterwards whether a monthly plan makes sense.
How quickly will I see results?
Paid search can produce calls within days of launch, while SEO and reviews build over months. We won't promise a ranking or a lead count; we'll tell you what we expect, what we measure and when you should judge it.
